Vernon Leo Goodwin, Jr., age 56 of Hopkinsville, passed away on Sunday, October 3rd at his residence of natural causes.
He was born February 16, 1965 in Fort Campbell, Kentucky the son of Vernon Leo Goodwin, Sr. and Christine Caudill.
He was a veteran in the US Army and a member of the Nightmares End Haunted House organization. He loved his family, fishing, barbecuing and driving.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Deanna Stevenson. He is survived by his mother, Christine Mitchell of Hopkinsville; his wife, Mary Goodwin of Hopkinsville; three sons, William Goodwin of Madisonville, Nathanial Board of Vienna, Illinois and James Board of Orient, Illinois; two daughters, Gabrielle Board of Mount Vernon, Illinois and Kathryn Goodwin of Hopkinsville; a brother, Charles Goodwin of Hopkinsville and thirteen grandchildren.
Visitation with the family will be on Friday, October 8th from 11:00 until funeral service time at 12:00 at the Cross Point Ministries Church, 1127 E. 7th Street, Hopkinsville with Rev. Travis Campbell officiating. Interment will follow at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville at 2:00.
