Richard "Dick" Longobardo

Richard “Dick” Longobardo, 93 years young of Bowling Green, passed peacefully at Hospice of Southern Kentucky on July 22, 2022.

The Chicago, Illinois native was the son of the late Joseph Longobardo and Loretta (DeGrado) Longobardo. 

Dick retired as a mechanic and business owner for 35 years of Uptown Garage & Towing Service in Whittier, CA.  He worked hard and loved even harder. He was a devoted Christian with a deep faith.  He was a very special man who never met a stranger and if he didn’t know you before meeting you, he definitely knew you after. Dick was a wonderful husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend to many. 

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by a son, Richard “Rick” Longobardo and five brothers, Gene, David, Joseph, Peter and Timothy Longobardo.

He is survived by the love of his life for 74 years, Dorothy “Dottie” Muscari Longobardo; two sons, Michael Longobardo (Barbara) of Raleigh, NC and Tom Longobardo of Long Beach, CA; daughter-in-law, Sheryl (Longobardo) Lee (Rick) of Fernandina Beach, FL; a sister, Mary (Longobardo) Cutrona of Whittier, CA; five grandchildren, Vince Longobardo, David Longobardo, Tim Longobardo, Ryan Longobardo and Lauren (Longobardo) Boldt and eight great grandchildren with two more on the way.

A Joyous Celebration of Life for Dick and a farewell to Dottie, who will moving to North Carolina, will be held in the chapel at Living Hope Baptist Church on Saturday, August 27^th with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. and a Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to “Hospice of Southern Kentucky” in memory of Richard “Dick” Longobardo.
