George Stephen Evans

George Stephen Evans, age 74 of Russellville, passed away on Friday, November 13, 2020 at the Owensboro Health Regional Hospital in Owensboro, Kentucky.

He was born on January 19, 1946 in Owensboro, Kentucky to the late John Morton and Clara Marie Chinn Evans.

Mr. Evans was a member of Grace Community Chapel in Leitchfield, Kentucky. After serving as manager to several finance companies in Russellville, George retired in 2011. He spent many years coaching and assisting in various youth activities, such as Russellville Band Boosters, youth league baseball, football and soccer, as well as a Boy Scout troop leader. He loved his family, studying the Bible and constructing model train sets in his spare time. He was a huge fan of UK basketball, as well as the Chicago Bears.

George was preceded in death by his parents and his sister-in-law, Carol Everly Evans. He is survived by his wife, Verna Ann Frank Evans of Russellville; two sons, Jason (Toni Lynn) Evans and Jonathan (Rachel) Evans both of Russellville; a daughter, Stephanie (David) Beach of Bowling Green; a brother, John Morton Evans Jr. of Princeton and ten grandchildren, Bryce, Kilee, Kinslee and Blake Evans, Brayden and Chase Cropper, Layne Jump, Samantha, Alex and Anthony Beach.
