Francis Emery Meade Sr., age 85 of Crofton, passed away on Sunday, February 7th at his home of natural causes.
He was born October 20, 1935 in Hillsdale, Michigan the son of the late Emery and Mary Patrick Meade.
He retired from Eckrich Foods in 1998. He loved his family, enjoyed farming and was well known for his berry and vegetable gardening.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruby Southwell and Barbara Hodge. He is survived by his wife, Florence Meade of Crofton; six sons, Francis Meade Jr. of Crofton, James Meade of Angola, Indiana, Andrew Meade of Sturgis, Michigan, Gerald Meade of Hillsdale, Michigan, Matthew Meade of Kalamazoo, Michigan and Steven Meade of Mississippi; two daughters, Dawn Swafford of Angola, Indiana and Hope Hancock of Crofton; six brothers, Charles, Raymond, George, Dale, Kenny and Richard Meade all of Michigan; fifteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
The family chose cremation. There will be a Memorial Service on a later date.
