Albert "Al" Painter Obituary

Albert “Al” Painter, age 74 of Lewisburg, passed away on Thursday, July 9th at home with his family by his side.

He was born January 6, 1946 in Springfield, Illinois, son of the late George Painter and Catherine Shipley Painter.

He was an active member for nearly 30 years with the Christian Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Russellville. He dearly loved his family, the Great Smoky Mountains, and volunteering for construction projects for the Christian Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.  Also, not to forget how quick he was to step up and help family, neighbors, and friends.  He thoroughly enjoyed teaching his grandsons different life skills, such as running and maintaining the tractor, welding, and everyday maintenance around the property. As for his granddaughter he taught her how to drive the Polaris.

He was preceded in death by his parents as well as a stepmother Gladys Langfield; two stepbrothers Carl and Leon Parton, along with stepsister Janet Smith.  He is survived by his wife of 56 years Donnie (Laster) Painter of Lewisburg and two daughters Lesa (Mark) Cloughessy of Elwood, Illinois and Pamela Painter of Lewisburg.  Also surviving are four grandchildren Jonathan “Jon” and Timothy “Tim” Evans both of Lewisburg along with Zachary “Zac” and Krista Cloughessy both of Elwood, Illinois.

There will be a Memorial Service on a later date via Zoom with Greg Maley officiating.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
