Vernon “Pete” Latham, age 81 of Hopkinsville, passed away on November 5, 2019 at Jennie Stuart Hospital in Hopkinsville of natural causes. He was surrounded by his loving family.
He was born February 19, 1938 in Christian County, Kentucky the son of the late Vernie and Mattie Seigers Latham.
He was retired from Faultless Hardware and from the Bradford Square Mall. He was a huge UK basketball fan and he enjoyed spending time with family and friends, fishing and bowling. He also loved to visit the senior center where he was known for making people laugh.
He was preceded in death by his parents as well as his wife of 44 years Doris Ann Latham; two brothers Ed and Charles Latham and four sisters Mary Goode, Virginia Moore, Ann Chaney and Norma Jean Whatham. He is survived by his children Michael Latham (Merietta) of Cadiz, Angela Latham of Hopkinsville and Randy Latham (Stacey) of Clarksville, Tennessee and a brother David “Wayne” Latham of Columbia, Kentucky. Also surviving are his grandchildren Alyssa Latham of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, Ashley Hick of Clarksville, Tennessee, Adam Latham (Alaecia) of Hopkinsville, Joshua Hicks of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Austin Latham of Clarksville, Tennessee and Andrew Latham of Cadiz.
A private Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, November 9th at 2:00 at 3046 Clydesdale Drive, Clarksville, Tennessee. The family will receive guests and welcome all friends who would like to attend.
