Sharon Elizabeth Borum was born on February 14, 1957 in Kankakee, IL to Eugene and Lucille Eason. Sharon’s family moved to Chicago when she was a young girl where she graduated from Jones Commercial High School.
At a young age, Sharon took an interest in the Bible and was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses at the age of 14. She loved talking about the Bible so much that she devoted her time after graduating from high school as a regular pioneer which involved spending the majority of time telling others about God’s wonderful future for mankind. A few years later, Sharon met the love of her life, James Borum Sr., and they were married on May 31, 1980.
On January 20, 1984, Sharon gave birth to her only son, James Borum Jr. She devoted a lot of her energy to helping him to have a happy childhood that included learning appreciation for Jehovah and experiencing a good time whether they were at home laughing or at a baseball game.
Sharon was known for her love for people, love of food, and love of laughter. She was known for maintaining a positive spirit right down to the end of her life.
In 2014, Sharon retired from the American College of Surgeons and restarted her full-time service as a regular pioneer talking to others about God’s Kingdom. This led to a special moment in July 2015 when Sharon was able to share the experience of going to Pioneer Service School with her pioneer partner and husband, James Sr. Also, in December 2015, Sharon achieved a lifelong dream and moved to Hopkinsville, KY in order to serve in an area that had a greater need for spreading the message about God’s Kingdom. She would spend almost every day with her husband talking to people about the Bible. Towards the end of the life, she said that serving in Hopkinsville were the best years of her life because she could focus on preaching the Good News of the Kingdom.
On June 6, 2019, Sharon died peacefully at home from a long battle with cancer in the presence of her loved ones.
Sharon leaves to cherish her husband James Borum Sr. of thirty nine years, one son, James Borum Jr (Alicia Borum), one nephew, Eugene Edward Eason III (Victoria Eason), one aunt, Leila Eason (Charles Eason), many cousins including Johnny May Eason, Charles Eason Jr, Kimyatta Mitchell, Tyjuana Eason, Felsee Jackson, Charles Eason III and the loving Borum family!
She also leaves behind many friends who were like sisters, mothers, brothers and daughters who gave her love and support over the years.
