Myra Kaye Hancock

Myra Kaye Hancock, age 57 of Hopkinsville, passed away on Friday, January 11^th at her home of natural causes.

She was born October 20, 1961 in Hopkinsville, Kentucky the daughter of the late Benjamin Garrott and Sidney Freels Smithson.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Hopkinsville.  She was the owner of The Place a local eatery in Hopkinsville.  She loved spending time with her family, friends, and her dogs Pup-Pup and Harlow. She also enjoyed cooking and loved to be in the kitchen.

She was preceded in death by her parents as well as her husband Dean Place. She is survived by her daughter Scarlett Hancock of Hopkinsville; two sisters Patricia Ludwig of San Ignacio, Belize and Sherri Kelly of Maples, Florida.  Also surviving are seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.

There will be a Celebration of Life Service on Friday, January 18^th at 5:00 at Clayton’s, 119 E. 9^th Street in Hopkinsville, Kentucky with Pastor Terry Hancock and Pastor Paige Williams officiating.
