Martha Jean Smith

Mrs. Martha Jean Rogers Smith, age 76 of Hopkinsville, passed away on Saturday, May 5^th at Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville of natural causes.

She was born July 2, 1941 in Christian County, Kentucky the daughter of the late Eugene and Lorene Hord Rogers.

She was a member of the Hopkinsville Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents as well as a sister Ann Rogers.  She is survived by her husband David Smith of Hopkinsville; two sons Bill Smith (Tammy) of Hopkinsville and Phillip Smith (Nicky) of Trenton; two daughters Michelle Waggoner (Philip) of Hopkinsville and Kelly Shelton (Eric) of Greenville; three brothers Larry Rogers (Diane) of Hopkinsville, Pete Rogers of Trenton and Jesse Rogers (Donna) of Hopkinsville; five sisters Nancy Chavez (Bob) of Campbell, California, Kay Crabtree of Greenville, Christy Cotton (Jewel) of Nortonville; Carmen Hempfling (Steve) of Mariposa, California and Robin Harris of Hopkinsville; twenty-eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

There will be a Celebration of Life Service on Monday, May 14^th at 4:00 at the Hopkinsville Church of Christ, 425 Sheila Drive, Hopkinsville with P.J. Hicks officiating.
