Mr. Wayburne Dew, Sr., age 93 of Hopkinsville, passed away on Thursday, June 28th at his daughter’s home of natural causes.
He was born December 24, 1924 in Allegre, Kentucky the son of the late William Clyde and Gladys Lancaster Dew.
He was a member of Kelly Baptist Church and served in the United States Marines where he was a World War II veteran in the Pacific Theater. He loved his family and enjoyed bird hunting.
He was preceded in death by his parents as well as his wife Geneva Dew and grandson Zach. He is survived by four sons William Bradford Dew of Hopkinsville, Daniel Stevens Dew of Orange Beach, Alabama, Mark Randall Dew of Hopkinsville and Eldridge Wayburne Dew, Jr. of Pembroke; one daughter Melanie Mencer of Hopkinsville; five grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Visitation with the Dew family will be on Monday from 5:00 until funeral service time at 7:00 at the Kelly Baptist Church in Hopkinsville with Bro. Donnie Blick officiating. Committal service with military honors will be on Tuesday morning at 10:00 at the Peaceful Meadows Cemetery in Hopkinsville, Kentucky.
